FAQ

What does S-Class-Filtration system mean?

After close examination, the independent SLG institute in Chemnitz certified the SEBO AUTOMATIC X/XP emission values that were otherwise only achieved by vacuum cleaners with filters for suspended matter. The SEBO AIRBELT K and the SEBO AIRBELT C received equal results.
The excellent dust emission values are achieved by our vacuum cleaners because of the construction and the combination of the filtration material used by SEBO. This is why they have the inscription S-Class-Filtration.
The term S-Class-Filtration refers to the dust emission value of the whole device and is not equivalent with the term S-Class-Filter that is defined in DIN 24184. This standard refers only to the filter media not to the actual filtration capacity of the vacuum cleaner.
Inadequate density of the device cannot be compensated by the S-Class-Filtration.
Referring to the DIN 24184 S-Class-Filter particles of the size 0,3 to 0,5 µm have to come off well by 99,97%. Individual measured data cannot be worse than 99,92%.
The SEBO FELIX/DART, SEBO AUTOMATIC X/XP, SEBO PROFESSIONAL G, SEBO AIRBELT K3 and SEBO AIRBELT C met these standards. You have as an option, the possibility to upgrade other vacuums from our product line.

When do I have to change the filter in my SEBO?

There is no general answer to this question. The filter durability depends on the absorbed material. Especially fine dust e.g. cement clogs the pores of the filter material very fast.
In this case the filter effect gets lost in a very short time, the air flow rate in the device gets lower and the display flashes to alarm you to change the vacuum cleaner bag even though the bag is only half full.
By normal use we advise you to change the filter after 10 – 20 bags of general house dust.

Is there a SEBO Helpline?

The Helpline is there to advise you on self-help and to arrange servicing. SEBO machines are designed to be easy to maintain and most 'problems' can be resolved without a call out. Before phoning SEBO for service please ensure you have checked for blockages, fitted a new bag, replaced dirty filters and cleaned the brush roller (and fan if you have a turbo brush). If you still need to contact SEBO, please have your serial number and date of purchase details available.

Uprights or cylinder vacuum cleaner, which one is better for me?

Original upright vacuum cleaners with rotating brushes were only used for cleaning textile floor covering. With expanding interest, cylinder vacuum cleaners have become more popular for hard floors.
Today, this separation does not exist any more. Electric carpet brushes for cylinder vacuum cleaners and an innovative technology, like the automatic height adjustment at the SEBO AUTOMATIC X / XP makes them all-purpose.
Discuss with your professional SEBO dealer your vacuuming requirements and type of flooring in your home to determine what is the best vacuum cleaner for you.
You will convince yourself on the spot that a SEBO vacuum cleaner has many advantages over the competition.

How to remove a blockage?

Every vacuum cleaner can have a blockage. Blockages in SEBO vacuum cleaners are easy to remove as a result of the uncomplicated air way and its modular construction.
Before you start looking for a blockage, make sure that neither your filter bag nor your micro–hygiene or motor filter is blocked.

Please continue with the following steps in order to achieve good airflow:
SEBO AUTOMATIC X/ XP/ FELIX/ DART: Turn on the device and hold your hand over the end of the flexible hose.
Do you feel the usual strong suction power?

NO: Stretch the hose. The inner profile will be straightened and the blockage can loosen itself.
If this does not work, switch off machine, detach the hose completely from both openings and place the light grey end of the hose that was in the wand, into the bag housing opening instead. Stretch the hose vertically and turn on the vacuum. This will clean the flexible hosing.
Make sure that there is no blockage in the straight wand then simply reattach the hose to its original position for normal operation.

YES: Turn off the device. Check the straight wand, the flexible hose, filter bag and micro-filters, and any on-board attachments that may be clogged. In a final step, remove the power plug and remove the brush roller to check for blockages, and finally, inspect the orange trap door on the underside of the power head and remove any debris or blockages.
All of these steps will help you maintain a high level of performance for your SEBO.

SEBO AIRBELT K and SEBO AIRBELT C: Turn off the device. Inspect the filter bag and micro-filters for blockages. Then inspect the combination nozzle, telescope tube, handle and hose.
If the hose is blocked, then remove the hose from the machine and reverse the hose opening by placing the hose/handle at the suction neck of the machine and stretch the hose vertically.
Turn on the vacuum and allow the machine to remove any blockages then simply reattach the hose to its original position for normal operation.
